Do I need to be in shape to start CrossFit?

Absolutely not!  This is a common misconception to new potential athletes.  CrossFit training scalable for everyone regardless of background, abilities, limitations, or special needs.  In fact, we pride ourselves on laying solid foundations for those new to CrossFit training.  So if you’re brand new, don’t hesitate to give it a try.  We always offer free classes to those who are new so you can see for yourself that CrossFit is fun, effective, and for anyone and everyone.

Isn't CrossFit dangerous?

Again, this is another common misconception.  If you’re wondering this, then you’ve probably seen videos of people online doing something bizarre.  CrossFit is very safe is thought properly.  We would never prescribe a movement that you may not be familiar with, nor would we ever make you use weights that were inappropriate for your skill level or experience.  Our coaches are trained to coach complete beginners, with an emphasis on safety over anything else.  While some boxes may emphasis intensity and volume over safety, we would never put you or any of our members at potential risk.  If you do feel any discomfort of any kind for any reason, you can always communicate with your coach who will gladly adjust your workout.  Communication is key

As a female will it make me bulky or look masculine?

CrossFit training will not change your body type.  If you are not a “bulky” or muscular female to begin with, then CrossFit will not make you so.  While it is typically a lot easier for males to pack on muscle, it is usually a lot harder for females to put on muscle.  CrossFit training emphasizes proper nutrition as well as cardiovascular health and fitness, which will help you to create that lean, toned look that most women want….
